Jim joined Impax in 2008 to project manage assets in construction in the NEF portfolio. Jim has extensive energy experience, having worked on the development, construction and operations of wind, solar and thermal projects.
He has been a leader in the independent power industry since its emergence in the early 1980's. Jim has created two wind and solar renewable energy companies which are active throughout the EU. Prior to this, Jim led the development of energy projects for General Electric Company in Europe, launching several new technologies. Jim launched the independent power business for British Petroleum in Europe in 1995. While at BP he oversaw their first grass roots development in Great Yarmouth Power Ltd, and was involved in BP's investment in TNK. In the 1980's and early 1990's Jim worked at Cogentrix Energy, early movers in the independent power industry.
While there, Jim led the team from permitting stage through to project financing and led the creation of a gas fired generation portfolio of more than 2000MW in size.
Jim received his BSME from Union College and MBA from the Babcock School at Wake Forest University.
