Impax Group wins award for "Innovation in Climate Change Investment"

Impax Group plc ("Impax"), the specialist environmental
investment company, is pleased to announce it has won an award for
"Innovation in Climate Change Investment" at the Gold Standard and
Climate Change Awards.
Impax was selected from a shortlist of four fund management
companies for the Innovation award, for its joint venture with FTSE
to create the FTSE Environmental Opportunities All Share Index.
Ian Simm, CEO of Impax said: "We are delighted to be
acknowledged for our work in this area. Ten years ago Impax
launched the first ever index dedicated to the environmental sector
- the Environmental Technology 50 - relaunched this year with FTSE
Group. Since then we have worked with FTSE to develop a series of
indices which provide investors with industry standard benchmarks
for the environmental sector."
The FTSE Environmental Opportunities All Share Index is made up
of 450 constituents and covers alternative energy and energy
efficiency, water treatment and pollution control and waste
technologies and resource management companies. Selected
constituents must demonstrate that a minimum of 20% of their
business comes from environmental markets or technologies.
The Gold Standard and Climate Change Awards are run by Incisive
Media. The ceremony was held at the House of Commons on Tuesday
25th November. Judges included: Dr Bill McGuire, Professor of
Geophysical Hazards at UCL, Peter Holden, Director of Holden &
Partners, climate change specialist advice firm, James Murray,
editor of BusinessGreen; and Lawrence Gosling, editorial director
of Investment Week, Professional Adviser, and IFAonline.
